Nuvola Chandelier

Nuvola — cloud, swirled into the glass itself. Each tube carries ribbons of colour drawn through a milky body while the glass was still molten, so the pattern moves: pale where the glass thins, saturated where the swirl gathers, never the same twice around the fixture. Four tiers of these tubes step inward and downward on a chrome frame.

Where a plain tinted chandelier gives you one flat colour, this gives you a colour and its own shadow. Lit from within by seven lamps, the milky ground glows evenly while the darker veins stay legible as drawn lines across it — so the fixture reads as marble or watercolour rather than as coloured glass.

What you are looking at

• Hand-swirled colour. The veining is worked into molten glass, not printed or coated. It cannot fade or wear, and it differs on every tube and every fixture.
• Vertically textured tubes. Fine ribbing runs the length of each one, catching light along its whole height and giving the surface a frosted, bark-like grain.
• Four stepped tiers. Each row sits inside and below the one above, so every tube stays visible from underneath.
• Seven lamps inside the body, lighting the glass from within rather than casting down past it.
• Rigid rod suspension rather than a cord, so it hangs plumb and stays still.

Five colourways

• White. Milk-white with pearl swirls. The most versatile, and the one that reads as alabaster rather than as coloured glass.
• Rose. Dusty antique pink with deeper rose veining — warm, soft, and the strongest choice for a neutral room.
• Aqua. Pale sea-green with darker teal threads. Cool and coastal.
• Lilac. Violet shading to pale lavender. The boldest of the five.
• Smoke. Grey-taupe with darker charcoal veining. The most restrained, and the easiest to place in a room that already has a palette.

Where to hang it

At 22.8 inches across and 20.5 tall this is a mid-scale chandelier — large enough to anchor a room, compact enough for a standard eight-foot ceiling. It suits a dining table of roughly 48 to 66 inches with the lowest tubes 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop, a bedroom over the foot of the bed, a round entry, or a reading corner.

The supplied rod is 11.8 inches, so it hangs close to the ceiling as delivered; over a table you will want more. Contact us with your ceiling height and desired drop before ordering and we will supply the rod to match. Mount to a ceiling box rated for a chandelier of this size and braced to structure, and have an electrician confirm the fixing.

What colours are available?

Five: White, Rose, Aqua, Lilac, and Smoke. All five are the same size and price, and all use the same swirled marbling technique.

Is the swirled pattern printed on?

No. The colour is drawn through molten glass by hand, so the veining is inside the material. It cannot fade, chip, or wear off, and the pattern is different on every tube.

Will my chandelier match the photograph?

It will be recognisably the same design, but not identical. Because each tube is swirled individually, the density and direction of the veining vary from piece to piece and from fixture to fixture. That variation is the technique, not a defect.

How many bulbs does it take?

Seven, all E14 small screw base. E14 is smaller than the E26 and E27 bases common in North America; in the United States, E12 candelabra bulbs are the closest widely stocked equivalent, and we can confirm fit for your installation. Choose 2700K warm white — cool white flattens the swirl and drains the colour.

Is it dimmable?

It runs on a common wall switch and has no built-in dimming, so it depends on the bulbs. Dimmable LED or filament bulbs on a compatible wall dimmer will dim — and at low levels the darker veining in the glass becomes far more pronounced.

What does IP20 mean?

IP20 means the fixture is protected against contact with objects larger than 12 mm but has no water protection. It is an indoor dry-location rating — fine for dining rooms, bedrooms, and entries, but not for a bathroom with shower exposure or any outdoor location.

Is it suspended on a chain or a rod?

A rigid rod, 11.8 inches as supplied, which holds the fixture plumb and still rather than letting it swing. The length can be varied on request — contact us with your ceiling height before ordering.

Will it suit a standard eight-foot ceiling?

Yes. At 20.5 inches tall it is compact for a chandelier of this width, which is what makes it workable in an ordinary room rather than only in a double-height space.

How do I clean it?

Dust the tubes with a soft dry brush, working down the vertical ribbing, and support each tube as you work. Do not spray cleaner onto the fixture; dampen a cloth instead if more than dusting is needed.

Will it work outside the United States?

Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, and Saudi Arabia, so it runs on either a 120 V or a 220-240 V supply.
