A curved metal leaf, folded over a stone. The shade is a single sheet bent into a shallow shell — matte and dark on the outside, gold leaf on the inside — and cradled within it sits a sphere of natural alabaster. The light comes from inside the stone.
That is the whole difference. Alabaster is translucent, so it does not simply diffuse light the way frosted glass does; it carries light through its own veining. Every sphere is cut from natural stone, which means the grain, the cloudiness, and the pattern of warm and pale zones are different in every single piece. Two of these fixtures side by side will not match, and that is the point.
What you are actually buying
-
Natural alabaster, not resin or glass. A genuine stone diffuser with its own veining, lit from within. No two are identical.
-
Gold leaf interior. The inner face of the shell is gilded, so the light striking it bounces back warm and slightly uneven — a gold wash rather than a flat reflection.
-
Asymmetric shell. The metal curves and cuts away on one side, leaving the alabaster partly exposed and partly sheltered. Direct glow from one angle, hidden light from another.
-
G9 light source. A compact capsule bulb, small enough to sit inside the stone without bulk. LED or halogen.
Two sizes, two finishes
-
Ø 15.7" (40 cm) — a single fixture for a bedside, an entry, or a reading corner. $680
-
Ø 23.6" (60 cm) — the statement scale, for a dining table or a kitchen island. $890
Black & Gold gives the sharpest contrast: a dark shell that disappears against a dark ceiling and leaves the gold interior and the glowing stone doing all the work. White & Gold is the softer read, the shell blending into a pale ceiling so the fixture appears to float.

Choosing and hanging
Over a dining table, the 23.6" suits tables from about 60 inches wide; the 15.7" is better as a pair over an island, or singly beside a bed or armchair. Hang the lowest point of the shell 30 to 34 inches above a tabletop. Because the alabaster is the light source and the shell shields it from one side, orient the open side toward the part of the room you want lit — the fixture is directional in a way a globe pendant is not.
Frequently asked questions
What sizes and prices are available?
Two. The Ø 15.7" (40 cm) is $680 and the Ø 23.6" (60 cm) is $890. Both are offered in Black & Gold and in White & Gold at the same price.
Is the alabaster real stone?
Yes. The sphere is natural alabaster, a translucent stone that transmits light through its own veining. Because it is a natural material, the color, cloudiness, and grain pattern vary from piece to piece. Variation is a characteristic of the material, not a defect.
What bulb does it take?
A G9 capsule bulb, either LED or halogen, not included. G9 is a small two-pin base, not a screw base — make sure you buy G9 and not E26 or E27. Choose 2700K warm white; alabaster's natural warmth is lost under cool white light.
What finishes are available?
Two: Black & Gold, and White & Gold. In both, the outer face of the shell carries the color and the inner face is gold leaf.
How far down does it hang?
Up to 78.7 inches / 200 cm of total drop including the suspension, and the 150 cm / 59 inch wire can be shortened at installation to hang it as high as you need. Longer suspension is available on request for double-height rooms — contact us before ordering.
Is it dimmable?
The fixture runs on a common wall switch and has no built-in dimming, so it depends on the bulb. A dimmable G9 LED or a halogen bulb on a compatible wall dimmer will dim — and dimming suits this fixture particularly well, because low light brings out the veining in the stone.
Does the light go in every direction?
No, and that is deliberate. The metal shell shields the alabaster on one side and opens on the other, so the fixture throws light asymmetrically. Rotate it at installation to aim the open side where you want the light.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated for indoor use only. Alabaster is a porous natural stone that stains and degrades with moisture, so keep this fixture well away from bathrooms and any outdoor or covered exterior location.
How do I clean the alabaster?
Dust with a dry, soft cloth only. Do not use water, vinegar, or any household cleaner — alabaster is porous and acid-sensitive, and liquid cleaners will mark it permanently.
Will it work outside the United States?
Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. G9 bulbs are available for both 120 V and 230 V supply.
