Why the tiered petal shape works
The petals are set in staggered rows so that every row shields the bulb from a different viewing angle. Stand anywhere in the room and you never see the filament directly - you see lit metal. Brushed stainless steel gives a soft, matte metallic sheen that hides fingerprints and pairs with stainless appliances. Polished stainless steel is mirror-bright and multiplies the light. Installation
The canopy mounts to a standard ceiling junction box. Hang the bottom of the shade 30 to 36 in. above a tabletop, and no lower than 7 ft above the floor in a walkway. The 28.3 in. and 33.1 in. sizes are heavy enough to require a rated ceiling brace or direct joist anchoring, so plan on a licensed electrician for those two.
