The Seraphina by Fredrick Ramond is a masterclass in light refraction. Eschewing traditional crystal, it utilizes folded panes of textural water glass that wrap around a stately Distressed Brass frame. This creates a "crinkled" or "frozen" effect that softly scatters light, making it a favorite for designers who want the sparkle of a chandelier without the formal rigidity of a classic tiered fixture.
Distressed Brass Frame: The frame features a muted, high-end "Distressed Brass" finish that grounds the airiness of the glass with a sense of historic permanence.
Drum & Linear Profiles: Available in both a circular drum (ideal for round dining tables and foyers) and a horizontal linear format (perfect for kitchen islands and long dining halls).
Multi-Directional Glow: The placement of the panes ensures light is diffused both upward toward the ceiling and downward onto the tabletop, providing a balanced, skin-flattering ambiance.
Many buyers are also seeking the Seraphina Cluster (Y'INSP / MOD Lighting) version, which offers a different aesthetic:
The Design: A "bubble" or "cloud" of ribbed glass globes suspended on a brushed gold or polished nickel frame.
The Vibe: Playful, organic, and highly modern.
Best For: Modern-maximalist dining rooms or bedrooms where a "floating" or "ethereal" look is desired.
Expert Recommendations
The Formal Dining Room: Center the Linear Seraphina over a dark walnut table. The brass accents and refractive glass create a "jewelry-like" centerpiece that sparkles during evening dinner parties.
The Grand Foyer: Use the Large Drum (40") in an entry with high ceilings. The low 10" height makes it an excellent choice for homes that want a "grand" presence without a massive vertical drop.
Zoning with Texture: Pair the Seraphina with other "water-inspired" elements, such as silk-blend rugs or polished stone floors, to emphasize the organic quality of the glass.
Professional Buyer Guide
Is it difficult to clean? Because of the folded glass panes, we recommend using a specialized chandelier spray or compressed air for maintenance. For a deep clean, the panes can be carefully wiped with a microfiber cloth.
Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling? Yes, the Hinkley version includes a swivel canopy designed for slopes up to 90 degrees.
Does it come with bulbs? Typically, no. To achieve the intended "sparkle," use Clear LED Candelabra bulbs rather than frosted ones.
Available in 5-light or 6-light configurations.
